معاهدة السلام مع اليابان الموقعة في سان فرانسيسكو، 8 أيلول / سبتمبر 1951 بدء النفاذ الأولي. 28 نيسان / أبريل 1952 ملاحظة: لم تدع جمهورية الصين ولا جمهورية الصين الشعبية إلى مؤتمر سان فرانسيسكو للسلام، ولم تكنا طرفين في معاهدة سان فرانسيسكو. أبرمت جمهورية الصين معاهدة سلام منفصلة مع اليابان في عام 1952. ويوقع رئيس الوزراء يوشيدا شيجيرو من اليابان، ويحيط به كبار أعضاء الوفد الياباني، معاهدة السلام في 8 أيلول / سبتمبر 1951. معاهدة السلام مع اليابان، وتقرر اليابان أن علاقاتها من الآن فصاعدا هي علاقات الدول التي تتعاون، بصفتها ذات سيادة، في رابطة ودية لتعزيز رفاهها المشترك وصون السلم والأمن الدوليين، ولذلك فهي ترغب في إبرام معاهدة سلام تسوي المسائل التي لا تزال معلقة نتيجة لوجود حالة حرب بينها وبينما تعلن اليابان من جانبها عزمها على التقدم بطلب للعضوية في الأمم المتحدة وفي جميع الظروف لكي تتفق مع مبادئ ميثاق الأمم المتحدة في السعي لتحقيق أهداف الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان سعيا إلى تهيئة ظروف الاستقرار والرفاه في اليابان على النحو المحدد في المادتين 55 و 56 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، والتي بدأت بالفعل بالتشريع الياباني بعد الاستسلام وفي التجارة العامة والخاصة والتجارة بما يتفق مع الممارسات العادلة المقبولة دوليا. وهنا ترحب القوى المتحالفة بنوايا اليابان في الفقرة السابقة أعلاه، قرر أصحاب السعادة والممثلون القانونيون المعنيون بإبرام معاهدة السلام الحالية، وبناء على ذلك عينوا المفوضين الموقعين أدناه، الذين قاموا، بعد تقديم صلاحياتهم الكاملة، على ما يلي: (أ) تنتهي حالة الحرب بين اليابان وكل دولة من الدول المتحالفة اعتبارا من تاريخ بدء نفاذ هذه المعاهدة بين اليابان والسلطة المتحالفة المعنية على النحو المنصوص عليه في المادة 23 (أ). (ب) تعترف القوى المتحالفة بالسيادة الكاملة للشعب الياباني على اليابان ومياهها الإقليمية. (أ) اليابان، إذ تعترف باستقلال كوريا، تتخلى عن جميع حقوقها وحقها في المطالبة والمطالبة بها، بما في ذلك جزر كيلبار وبورت هاميلتون وداجيليت. (ج) تتخلى اليابان عن حق جزر كوريل وملكيتها ومطالبتها، وإلى ذلك الجزء من سخالين والجزر المتاخمة لها التي اكتسبت اليابان السيادة عليها نتيجة لمعاهدة بورتسموث المؤرخة 5 أيلول / سبتمبر 1905. (د) اليابان ينبذ كل الحق واللقب والمطالبة فيما يتصل بنظام ولاية عصبة الأمم، ويقبل الإجراء الذي اتخذه مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة في 2 نيسان / أبريل 1947، الذي يمدد نظام الوصاية إلى جزر المحيط الهادئ التي كانت في السابق خاضعة لولاية اليابان. (ه) تنبذ اليابان كل المطالبة بأي حق أو حق ملكية أو مصلحة فيما يتعلق بأي جزء من منطقة أنتاركتيكا، سواء كانت ناشئة عن أنشطة المواطنين اليابانيين أو غير ذلك. (و) تتخلى اليابان عن حق كل من جزر سبراتلي وجزر باراسيل وحقها في المطالبة والمطالبة بها. وستوافق اليابان على أي اقتراح تقدمت به الولايات المتحدة إلى الأمم المتحدة لكي تضع تحت نظام الوصاية عليها، مع الولايات المتحدة بوصفها السلطة القائمة بالإدارة الوحيدة، نانسي شوتو جنوب 29 ديغ. (أ) رهنا بأحكام الفقرة (ب) من هذه المادة، والتصرف في ممتلكات اليابان ومواطنيها في المناطق المشار إليها في المادة 2، ومطالباتهم، بما في ذلك الديون، ضد السلطات التي تدير هذه المناطق حاليا، يكون السكان (بمن فيهم الأشخاص الاعتباريون)، والتخلص من ممتلكات تلك السلطات والمقيمين في اليابان، والمطالبات، بما في ذلك ديون تلك السلطات والمقيمين ضد اليابان ومواطنيها، موضوع ترتيبات خاصة بين اليابان و هذه السلطات. تعيد السلطة القائمة بالإدارة ممتلكات أي من دول الحلفاء أو رعاياها في المناطق المشار إليها في المادة 2، في حالة عدم القيام بذلك بالفعل، في الحالة التي توجد فيها الآن. (يشمل مصطلح "المواطنون" كلما استخدموا في هذه المعاهدة الأشخاص الاعتباريين). (ب) تعترف اليابان بسلامة التصرف في ممتلكات اليابان والمواطنين اليابانيين، بناء على توجيهات من الحكومة العسكرية للولايات المتحدة أو بناء على توجيهاتها في أي من المجالات المشار إليها في المادتين 2 و 3. (ج) توزع اليابان كابلات بحرية مملوكة لليابان مع الأراضي التي أزيلت من السيطرة اليابانية وفقا لهذه المعاهدة بالتساوي، واليابان الإبقاء على المحطة اليابانية والنصف المتاخم للكابل، والأراضي المنفصلة ما تبقى من كابل وربط مرافق المحطة. (أ) تقبل اليابان الالتزامات المنصوص عليها في المادة 2 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة. ولا سيما الالتزامات '1' تسوية منازعاتها الدولية بالوسائل السلمية على نحو لا يعرض السلم والأمن الدوليين والعدالة للخطر؛ '2' الامتناع في علاقاتها الدولية عن التهديد باستعمال القوة أو استعمالها ضد أو أي سلام آخر أو استقلال سياسي لأي دولة أو بأي طريقة أخرى لا تتفق مع مقاصد الأمم المتحدة '3' أن تقدم للأمم المتحدة كل مساعدة في أي إجراء تتخذه وفقا للميثاق، وأن تمتنع عن تقديم المساعدة إلى أي دولة والتي يجوز للأمم المتحدة أن تتخذ بشأنها إجراءات وقائية أو تدابير إنفاذ. (ب) تؤكد الدول الحليفة أنها ستسترشد بمبادئ المادة 2 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة في علاقاتها مع اليابان. (ج) تعترف الدول المتحالفة من جانبها بأن اليابان دولة ذات سيادة لها الحق الأصيل في الدفاع الفردي أو الجماعي عن النفس المشار إليه في المادة 51 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وأن اليابان قد تدخل طوعا في ترتيبات أمنية جماعية. (أ) تسحب جميع قوات الاحتلال التابعة لقوات الحلفاء من اليابان في أقرب وقت ممكن بعد بدء نفاذ هذه المعاهدة، وفي جميع الأحوال في موعد لا يتجاوز 90 يوما بعد ذلك. غير أنه ليس في هذا الحكم ما يمنع تمركز القوات المسلحة الأجنبية أو الاحتفاظ بها في الأراضي اليابانية في إطار أو نتيجة أي اتفاقات ثنائية أو متعددة الأطراف أبرمت أو يمكن أن تعقد بين دولة أو أكثر من الدول الحليفة، من ناحية ، واليابان من جهة أخرى. (ب) ستنفذ أحكام المادة 9 من إعلان بوتسدام المؤرخ 26 تموز / يوليه 1945، التي تتناول عودة القوات العسكرية اليابانية إلى ديارها، إلى الحد الذي لم ينجز بالفعل. (ج) تعاد جميع الممتلكات اليابانية التي لم يدفع لها تعويض بالفعل، والتي تم توفيرها لاستخدام قوات الاحتلال والتي لا تزال في حوزة تلك القوات وقت بدء نفاذ هذه المعاهدة إلى الحكومة اليابانية في غضون ال 90 يوما نفسها ما لم تتخذ ترتيبات أخرى بالاتفاق المتبادل. (ب) يجوز لأي إخطار يصدر بموجب الفقرة (أ) من هذه المادة أن يستثنى من تشغيل أو إحياء معاهدة أو اتفاقية أي إقليم للعلاقات الدولية تكون السلطة المبلغة مسؤولة عنه حتى ثلاثة أشهر من التاريخ التي يعطى فيها إشعار إلى اليابان بأن هذا الاستثناء سوف يتوقف عن تطبيقه. (أ) ستعترف اليابان بالقوة الكاملة لجميع المعاهدات التي أبرمتها أو تختتمها فيما بعد الدول الحليفة لإنهاء حالة الحرب التي بدأت في 1 أيلول / سبتمبر 1939، وكذلك أية ترتيبات أخرى اتخذتها الدول المتحالفة فيما يتعلق باستعادة سلام. وتقبل اليابان أيضا الترتيبات المتخذة لإنهاء عصبة الأمم السابقة والمحكمة الدائمة للعدل الدولي. (ب) تتخلى اليابان عن جميع الحقوق والمصالح التي قد تستمدها من كونها قوة موقِّعة على اتفاقيات سانت جيرمان - إن-لاي المؤرخة 10 أيلول / سبتمبر 1919، واتفاق مضيق مونترو المؤرخ 20 تموز / يوليه 1936، ومن المادة 16 من معاهدة السلام مع تركيا التي وقعت في لوزان في 24 تموز / يوليه 1923. (ج) تتخلى اليابان عن جميع الحقوق وحقوق الملكية والمصالح المكتسبة بموجب الاتفاقية المبرمة بين ألمانيا والدول الدائنة في 20 كانون الثاني / يناير 1930 ومرفقاتها، بما في ذلك الاتفاق الاستئماني المؤرخ 17 أيار / مايو 1930، واتفاقية 20 كانون الثاني / يناير 1930، التي تحترم مصرف التسويات الدولية والنظام الأساسي لبنك التسويات الدولية. وستبلغ اليابان وزارة الشؤون الخارجية في باريس في غضون ستة أشهر من بدء سريان هذه المعاهدة بالتخلي عن الحقوق والحقوق والمصالح المشار إليها في هذه الفقرة. وستدخل اليابان على وجه السرعة في مفاوضات مع الدول الحليفة رغبة منها في إبرام اتفاقات ثنائية ومتعددة الأطراف تنص على تنظيم الصيد أو الحد منه وحفظ مصائد الأسماك وتنميتها في أعالي البحار. تتخلى اليابان عن جميع الحقوق والمصالح الخاصة في الصين، بما في ذلك جميع المزايا والامتيازات الناجمة عن أحكام البروتوكول النهائي الموقع في بيجين في 7 أيلول / سبتمبر 1901، وجميع المرفقات والملاحظات والوثائق التكميلية لها، وتوافق على الإلغاء فيما يتعلق باليابان من البروتوكول المذكور والملاحق والملاحظات والوثائق. تقبل اليابان الأحكام الصادرة عن المحكمة العسكرية الدولية في الشرق الأقصى ومحاكم جرائم الحرب الأخرى داخل اليابان وخارجها، وستنفذ الأحكام الصادرة بحق المواطنين اليابانيين المسجونين في اليابان. ولا يجوز ممارسة سلطة منح العفو، ولتقليل الأحكام والإفراج المشروط فيما يتعلق بهؤلاء السجناء إلا بقرار من الحكومة أو الحكومات التي فرضت الحكم في كل حالة، وبناء على توصية من اليابان. وفي حالة الأشخاص الذين حكمت عليهم المحكمة العسكرية الدولية في الشرق الأقصى، لا يجوز ممارسة هذه السلطة إلا بقرار من أغلبية الحكومات الممثلة في المحكمة، وبناء على توصية اليابان. (أ) تعلن اليابان استعدادها على وجه السرعة للدخول في مفاوضات لإبرام معاهدات أو اتفاقات مع كل دولة من الدول المتحالفة لإبرام علاقاتها التجارية والبحرية وغيرها من العلاقات التجارية على أساس مستقر وود. (ب) تنتظر اليابان، رهنا بإبرام المعاهدة أو الاتفاق ذي الصلة، مواطنيها ومنتجاتها وسفنها، خلال فترة أربع سنوات من بدء نفاذ هذه المعاهدة (1) الأولى لكل دولة من الدول الحليفة، '1' معاملة الدولة الأولى بالرعاية فيما يتعلق بالرسوم الجمركية والرسوم والقيود والأنظمة الأخرى المتعلقة باستيراد وتصدير السلع أو فيما يتصل بها (2) المعاملة الوطنية فيما يتعلق بالشحن والملاحة والسلع المستوردة، وفيما يتعلق ب الأشخاص الطبيعيين والاعتباريين ومصالحهم - وتشمل هذه المعاملة جميع المسائل المتعلقة بفرض الضرائب وجمعها، وإمكانية اللجوء إلى المحاكم، وأداء العقود، وحقوق الملكية (الملموسة وغير الملموسة)، والمشاركة في الكيانات القانونية التي تشكلها القانون الياباني، وعموما سلوك جميع أنواع الأعمال والأنشطة المهنية (2) ضمان أن المشتريات الخارجية والمبيعات من الشركات التجارية الحكومية اليابانية شال ل تعتمد فقط على الاعتبارات التجارية. (ج) فيما يتعلق بأي مسألة، يتعين على اليابان أن تمنح معاملة وطنية للحلفاء أو معاملة الدولة الأولى بالرعاية، إلى الحد الذي تسمح فيه سلطة الحلفاء المعنية بالمعاملة الوطنية لليابان أو الأكثر رعاية - حسب الحالة، فيما يتعلق بالمسألة نفسها. وتحدد المعاملة بالمثل المنصوص عليها في الجملة السالفة الذكر، في حالة المنتجات والسفن والكيانات القانونية والأشخاص المقيمين في أي إقليم غير حضري تابع لسلطة الحلفاء، وفي حالة الكيانات القانونية والأشخاص المقيمين في أي ولاية أو مقاطعة تابعة لسلطة حلفاء لها حكومة اتحادية، بالرجوع إلى المعاملة الممنوحة لليابان في هذا الإقليم أو الولاية أو المقاطعة. (د) في تطبيق هذه المادة، لا يعتبر التدبير التمييزي استثناء من منح المعاملة الوطنية أو الدولة الأكثر رعاية، حسب مقتضى الحال، إذا كان هذا التدبير يستند إلى استثناء ينص عليه عادة أو معاهدات تجارية للطرف الذي يطبقها، أو على ضرورة الحفاظ على المركز المالي الخارجي أو ميزان المدفوعات لهذا الطرف (باستثناء ما يتعلق بالشحن والملاحة)، أو على ضرورة الحفاظ على مصالحه الأمنية الأساسية، تتناسب مع الظروف ولا تطبق بطريقة تعسفية أو غير معقولة. (ه) لا تتأثر التزامات اليابان بموجب هذه المادة بممارسة أي من حقوق الحلفاء بموجب المادة 14 من هذه المعاهدة، ولا يجوز فهم أحكام هذه المادة على أنها تقيد التعهدات التي تعهدت بها اليابان بموجب المادة 15 من المعاهدة . (أ) تدخل اليابان في مفاوضات مع أي من الدول المتحالفة، بناء على طلب هذه السلطة أو الدول، لإبرام اتفاقات ثنائية أو متعددة الأطراف تتعلق بالنقل الجوي المدني الدولي. (ب) تنتظر اليابان، إلى حين إبرام هذا الاتفاق أو الاتفاقات، خلال فترة أربع سنوات من بدء نفاذ هذه المعاهدة، معاملة السلطة التي لا تقل مواتاة فيما يتعلق بحقوق وامتيازات الحركة الجوية من تلك التي تمارسها أي من هذه القوى في تاريخ بدء نفاذها، وستتيح تكافؤ الفرص على قدم المساواة فيما يتعلق بتشغيل وتطوير الخدمات الجوية. (ج) في انتظار أن تصبح اليابان طرفا في اتفاقية الطيران المدني الدولي وفقا للمادة 93 من هذه الاتفاقية، ستنفذ أحكام تلك الاتفاقية المنطبقة على الملاحة الدولية للطائرات، وستنفذ المعايير والممارسات و الإجراءات المعتمدة كمرفقات للاتفاقية وفقا لأحكام الاتفاقية. المطالبات والممتلكات (أ) من المسلم به أنه ينبغي لليابان أن تدفع تعويضات إلى الدول المتحالفة عن الأضرار والمعاناة التي سببتها خلال الحرب. ومع ذلك، من المسلم به أيضا أن موارد اليابان لا تكفي في الوقت الحالي، إذا أريد لها أن تحافظ على اقتصاد قابل للاستمرار، أن تقدم جبرا كاملا لجميع هذه الأضرار والمعاناة وتفي في الوقت ذاته بالتزاماتها الأخرى. 1 - ستدخل اليابان على وجه السرعة في مفاوضات مع الدول المتحالفة التي ترغب في ذلك، حيث احتلت القوات اليابانية أراضيها الحالية وتضررت من اليابان، بغية المساعدة على تعويض تلك البلدان عن تكلفة إصلاح الأضرار التي لحقت بها، وذلك بتوفير الخدمات من الشعب الياباني في الإنتاج، إنقاذ وغيرها من الأعمال لدول الحلفاء المعنية. ومن شأن هذه الترتيبات أن تتفادى فرض التزامات إضافية على الدول المتحالفة الأخرى، وحيثما يطلب تصنيع المواد الخام، تزودها الدول المتحالفة المعنية، حتى لا تتحمل أي عبء من العملات الأجنبية على اليابان. 2 - (1) رهنا بأحكام الفقرة الفرعية (ثانيا) أدناه، يكون لكل دولة من الدول المتحالفة الحق في الاستيلاء على جميع الممتلكات والحقوق والمصالح أو الاحتفاظ بها أو تصفيتها أو التصرف فيها على نحو آخر: (أ) (ب) الأشخاص الذين يتصرفون لصالح اليابان أو مواطنين يابانيين أو بالنيابة عنهم؛ و (ج) الكيانات التي تملكها أو تسيطر عليها اليابان أو المواطنون اليابانيون، والتي كانت خاضعة لولايتها منذ بدء سريان هذه المعاهدة. وتشمل الممتلكات والحقوق والمصالح المحددة في هذه الفقرة الفرعية تلك التي أصبحت الآن ممنوعة أو مخولة أو بحوزة أو تحت سيطرة سلطات أملاك العدو التابعة للقوات المتحالفة التي تنتمي إلى أي من الأشخاص أو تحتجزهم أو تدار بالنيابة عنهم أو الكيانات المذكورة في الفقرات (أ) أو (ب) أو (ج) أعلاه في الوقت الذي تخضع فيه هذه الأصول لضوابط تلك السلطات. '1' ممتلكات الأشخاص الطبيعيين اليابانيين الذين كانوا يقيمون أثناء الحرب بإذن من الحكومة المعنية في إقليم إحدى دول الحلفاء، باستثناء الأراضي التي تحتلها اليابان، باستثناء الممتلكات الخاضعة للقيود أثناء الحرب وعدم الإفراج عنهم القيود اعتبارا من تاريخ أول بدء نفاذ هذه المعاهدة "2" جميع الممتلكات العقارية والأثاث والتركيبات التي تملكها حكومة اليابان وتستخدم لأغراض دبلوماسية أو قنصلية وجميع الأثاث والمفروشات الشخصية وغيرها من الممتلكات الخاصة لا ذات طبيعة استثمارية كانت ضرورية عادة للقيام بالمهام الدبلوماسية والقنصلية التي يملكها الدبلوماسيون الدبلوماسيون والقنصليون اليابانيون '3' ممتلكات الهيئات الدينية أو المؤسسات الخيرية الخاصة وتستخدم حصرا لأغراض دينية أو خيرية '4' والحقوق والمصالح التي تدخل في نطاق ولايتها نتيجة لاستئناف التجارة والمالية العلاقات فيما بعد 2 أيلول / سبتمبر 1945، بين البلد المعني واليابان، باستثناء ما نجم عن معاملات مخالفة لقوانين سلطة الحلفاء المعنية؛ '5' التزامات اليابان أو المواطنين اليابانيين، أي حق أو ملكية أو مصلحة في الممتلكات المادية الواقعة في اليابان، فإن المصالح في المؤسسات المنظمة بموجب قوانين اليابان، أو أي دليل على ذلك شريطة أن ينطبق هذا الاستثناء فقط على التزامات اليابان ومواطنيها المعبر عنها بالعملة اليابانية. (ثالثا) تعاد الممتلكات المشار إليها في الاستثناءات من (1) إلى (5) أعلاه إلى نفقات معقولة لحفظها وإدارتها. وفي حالة تصفية أي من هذه الممتلكات، تعاد العائدات بدلا من ذلك. (رابعا) يمارس حق الاستيلاء على الممتلكات أو الاحتفاظ بها أو تصفيتها أو التصرف فيها على نحو ما هو منصوص عليه في الفقرة الفرعية '1' أعلاه وفقا لقوانين السلطة المتحالفة المعنية، ولا يكون للمالك سوى الحقوق التي يجوز منحها له من قبل تلك القوانين. (5) توافق دول الحلفاء على التعامل مع العلامات التجارية اليابانية وحقوق الملكية الأدبية والفنية على أساس موات لليابان كما تسمح الظروف السائدة في كل بلد. (ب) ما لم ينص على خلاف ذلك في هذه المعاهدة، تتنازل الدول المتحالفة عن جميع دعاوى التعويض عن دول الحلفاء، والمطالبات الأخرى للدول الحليفة ورعاياها الناشئة عن أي إجراءات تتخذها اليابان ورعاياها أثناء المحاكمة من الحرب، ومطالبة دول الحلفاء بتكاليف عسكرية مباشرة للاحتلال. (أ) تقوم اليابان، في غضون ستة أشهر من تاريخ تقديم الطلب، بإيداع الممتلكات، الملموسة وغير الملموسة، في حالة تقديم طلب في غضون تسعة أشهر من بدء سريان هذه المعاهدة بين اليابان والسلطة المتحالفة المعنية، أو مصالح من أي نوع في اليابان لكل دولة حليفة ومواطنيها الموجودين داخل اليابان في أي وقت بين 7 ديسمبر 1941 و 2 سبتمبر 1945، ما لم يكن المالك قد حرم من ذلك دون إكراه أو غش. وتعاد هذه الممتلكات من جميع الأعباء والرسوم التي قد تكون خاضعة لها بسبب الحرب، ودون أية رسوم على عودتها. ولا يجوز للحكومة اليابانية أن تقرر التصرف في الممتلكات التي لا يطلب صاحبها أو نيابة عن المالك أو حكومته في غضون الفترة المقررة. وفي الحالات التي تقع فيها هذه الممتلكات داخل اليابان في 7 كانون الأول / ديسمبر 1941، ولا يمكن إعادتها أو عانت من إصابات أو أضرار نتيجة للحرب، سيجري التعويض بشروط لا تقل مواتاة عن الشروط المنصوص عليها في مشروع تعويض ممتلكات القوات المتحالفة القانون الذي أقره مجلس الوزراء الياباني في 13 تموز / يوليه 1951. (ب) فيما يتعلق بحقوق الملكية الصناعية التي تعرقلت خلال الحرب، ستواصل اليابان منح قوات الحلفاء واستحقاقات رعاياها ما لا يقل عن تلك التي منحها بموجب الأمرين الوزاريين رقم 309 اعتبارا من 1 أيلول / سبتمبر 1949، ورقم 12 المؤرخ 28 كانون الثاني / يناير 1950، ورقم 9 اعتبارا من 1 شباط / فبراير 1950، بصيغته المعدلة الآن، شريطة أن يكون هؤلاء الرعايا قد تقدموا بطلب للحصول على هذه الاستحقاقات في غضون المهل المحددة فيه. San Francisco placed a call to his representatives right at the start of free agency, and the 28-year-old jumped at the opportunity. 8220If this team wants you, its a good thing,8221 he says. Once a highly regarded prospect with the Nationals, Marrero has scant MLB time, but did slash a productive .284.344.494 and hit a career-best 23 home runs in 544 Triple-A plate appearances last year with the Red Sox organization. By Jeff Todd February 24, 2017 at 9:45pm CDT While the Giants already had a host of internal options for their few MLB openings, the club brought in a wide range of alternatives to compete for jobs in camp. It8217s possible to imagine the team sticking with some old favorites, but the added contenders create some intrigue as the club looks to overtake a powerful Dodgers team in the NL West. Here are San Francisco8217s ongoing camp battles click here for previous entries in MLBTRs Camp Battles series. A pair of deadline swaps drastically altered the outlook for the Giants at the hot corner 8212 out went Matt Duffy . in came Nunez 8212 and the team has gone on to add a whole host of competitors for time there. Given the commitment to Nunez, and his lack of an obvious alternative position, it seems likely that he8217ll earn the lion8217s share of the time, but perhaps it8217s not etched in stone. Also at stake in this battle is a job as a utility infielder. Hwang represents the most intriguing alternative. He showed a fantastic blend of power and plate discipline last year, though it came in the hitter-friendly KBO and he had to settle for a minor league deal in his bid to make it in the majors. But if any of these players is a threat to Nunez as a semi-regular at third, it may be the unknown Hwang. Of course, Hill has shown life in the not-so-distant past, and could also be a real contender with a big spring. Beckham would have quite an uphill climb to lay such a claim himself, though the team thought enough of him in a brief cameo late last year to bring him back on a minors deal. Gillaspie was a surprising postseason hero, and may be a favorite for an Opening Day nod, though he8217d likely factor as a platoon candidate at the hot corner. Rollins may fight with Tomlinson and Calixte for a true utility spot. All are capable of playing shortstop, which doesn8217t hold for any of the other players 8212 excepting Nunez, who could conceivably add value as a heavily used multi-position player rather than parking on third base. Prediction: Nunez holds serve, with Gillaspie seeing time against righties. But I8217ll guess Hwang stakes out a roster spot, too, and plays third on occasions when Nunez spells left-handed-hitting middle infielders Brandon Crawford and Joe Panik . The Giants have made clear they8217d like someone to take the job as a semi-regular in left, which makes this a true battle for an important role 8212 albeit one that could change as the season goes on. Indications are that the out-of-options Parker will battle with Williamson for the job. Both have shown signs of promise in the upper minors and in their brief time in the bigs, though neither has yet been given a full opportunity to sink or swim at the game8217s highest level. While a platoon makes sense at first glance, it8217s trickier in practice. Indeed, GM Bobby Evans has strongly suggested that he doesn8217t really love the idea of both Parker and Williamson being on the same roster. The former hasn8217t shown evidence that he can succeed against lefties, making him a prime candidate to be spelled by a lefty bench bat. But the latter is also better historically against right-handed pitching, meaning he8217s not an optimal candidate to do so. Given the array of veterans assembled here, it seems that San Francisco is giving thought to a few scenarios. If Parker can win the job, as Evans says is his hope, then the club could option Williamson and keep a lefty masher on hand to share time in left and perhaps also spell Brandon Belt at first. Morse and Ruggiano will try to show what they have left this spring, while Blanks will look to get his career on track after a series of injuries, but Marrero could also be a real consideration given that the team targeted him early in the offseason. Any of those players could also conceivably coexist with Williamson, though that would leave just one left-handed-hitting outfielder in Denard Span . Hernandez, meanwhile, occupies a somewhat different place in the picture. Despite a lack of significant MLB time, he has shown a high-OBP approach in the upper minors. Hernandez could ease the burden on Span in center he8217s also out of options. Prediction: This is an exceedingly difficult situation to prognosticate, but sometimes you have to go with your gut. I8217ll guess that the Giants preserve their control rights and flexibility by handing near-regular duties to Parker, with Williamson optioned back to Triple-A to open the year. Hernandez will be the fourth outfielder, seeing most of his time in center, while one of the four righty bench bat candidates will take a job as well. My guess is Ruggiano, who has actually been rather productive in recent years when healthy and given a MLB opportunity. ROTATION (ONE SPOT) Matt Cain Age: 32 Throws: R Contract Status: 1 year, 20MM (club option for 2018 at 21MM, with 7.5MM buyout vests with 200 IP if Cain doesn8217t end year on DL for elbowshoulder injury) Options remaining: Can8217t be optioned without consent This certainly appears to be Cain8217s job to lose barring injury, it8217s difficult to imagine he won8217t get another shot at rediscovering his form. Given his salary and history with the organization, he8217ll have every chance of proving that he8217s back to health 8212 and that his last two seasons (combined 5.70 ERA over 150 frames) aren8217t a reflection of his true talent going forward. While there8217s limited opportunity for other hurlers to snatch the job based solely on their performances in camp, there are contenders. Suarez is perhaps a swingman option after giving the Giants 84 serviceable frames in 2016. Blach had a nice debut last year, though it was brief and he doesn8217t carry overwhelming minor-league numbers. Much the same holds true of Stratton. Meanwhile, Blackburn has shown signs of greater upside, though he managed only a 4.36 ERA with 6.7 K9 and 2.3 BB9 in his repeat of Triple-A last year. Looking somewhat further down the line, Tyler Beede headlines the team8217s prospect pool in the rotation department, and he could soon be ready after strong year at Double-A in 2016. Prediction: Cain gets the job out of camp, but could be pressured relatively early in the season. The wild card here is the health of lefty Will Smith . who has been slowed early. Any setback could not only open up another job (at least temporarily), but lock up Okert8217s already strong hold on an Opening Day roster spot. While he only threw 14 MLB frames in his debut last year, Okert recorded a strikeout per inning and also racked up sixty punchouts to go with just 11 walks in his 47 13 Triple-A frames. Osich was a similar story entering camp last year, but struggled badly in his sophomore campaign (4.71 ERA, 6.2 K9, 4.7 BB9 in 36 13 innings) and seems destined for a reboot. The other lefty, Reynolds, has an outside shot at factoring in despite his lack of recent contributions in the majors, though perhaps that8217s mostly plausible in the event that Smith is shelved. On the righty side of the equation, Gearrin and Kontos seem to have the inside track. Gearrin bounced back from two injury-limited seasons to post a 4.28 ERA, though it came along with a solid 8.4 K9 and 2.6 BB9. Kontos, meanwhile, has produced outstanding results in recent years (2.49 ERA in 159 innings) while he has averaged only 6.0 K9 against 2.4 BB9, he has managed to suppress the runs by generating lots of weak contact (.260 lifetime BABIP). Those pitchers could be challenged, though, and it8217s worth bearing in mind their arb deals aren8217t guaranteed (so far as has been reported, at least). Hernandez is fresh off of an uneven year in which he landed with a 3.84 ERA over 72 23 innings while he coughed up four free passes per nine, he also racked up 9.9 K9 and showed he was healthy. Morris and Ramirez have more to prove, given their health situations, but have big arms and have had success in the majors in the past. The above-noted Suarez (if not one of the optionable rotation candidates) could also factor here if the Giants elect to keep a long man 8212 and especially if they choose to forego an extra position player on the bench. Dan Slania is another name to consider, perhaps he showed well in the upper minors last year and could surprise in camp. Prediction: I8217ll go with a somewhat conventional outlook here, predicting that Gearrin and Kontos keep their jobs and are joined by Okert. Just to mix things up, though, I8217ll also guess that Smith is unable to start the year in the majors, opening the door to the team preventing Hernandez from opting out by placing him on the active roster.
